You can delete your LEVL account and its data at any time, from inside the app. This page explains how, what is removed, and the little that is kept.
Delete your account in the app
- Open LEVL and make sure you are signed in to the account you want to delete.
- Tap your picture at the top right of any tab. The Profile sheet opens.
- Scroll to Help & data and tap Delete account.
- Read what will be removed, type DELETE, then tap Delete my account permanently.
If you change your mind, tap Keep my account. Deletion can't be undone, and your username becomes available to someone else.
What happens when you confirm
- Your Check In photos are removed from storage first. If LEVL can't remove them, it stops, nothing is deleted, and the app tells you.
- Your account is deleted, together with:
- your profile, username, save, training log and physical details;
- your Check Ins, comments and reactions;
- friends, friend requests, blocks, duels and activity notices;
- reports you made, your settings (including your push token) and your bug reports.
- Your iPhone forgets the account. LEVL removes that account's save, recovery copies, any Check In still waiting to upload and cached photos from this iPhone, then signs you out.
If your connection drops part way through, LEVL checks with our server whether the account still exists before telling you the result. If it can't tell, it asks you to try again when you're online.
What is kept, without your name
- Diagnostics (usage events and crash reports), with your account ID removed. They are kept for one year.
- Reports other people made about your posts, with your account ID removed, so we can keep a record of moderation decisions.
- The record that a duel invite code was used, with your account ID removed.
We don't make our own backups of the database. Our hosting provider may keep daily backups of it for up to 7 days, so something you delete can remain in those backups for up to 7 days before it is gone.
Other things to know
- Other iPhones. If you were signed in on another iPhone, LEVL's copy of your data stays on that iPhone until you use Reset all data there or delete the app.
- Data from LEVL before 2.0. If this iPhone ran a LEVL version before 2.0, the copy that older version kept inside the app stays there until you delete the app.
- Sign in with Apple. If you used it, you can also stop using your Apple Account with LEVL in the Settings app › your name › Sign-In & Security › Sign in with Apple.
- Only want to start over? Profile › Reset all data (tap twice) resets your progress on this iPhone and, when you're signed in, in your account's saved progress. Your account, friends and Check Ins stay.
- Deleting single things. You can delete any Check In from its menu (⋯), your own comments from their menu, and any logged set from your training log, without deleting your account.
Guests
Guests have no account to delete. A guest's progress lives only on the iPhone. Use Profile › Reset all data, or delete the app, to remove it. Diagnostics sent while you were a guest carry only a random ID that changes every launch, so we can't link them to you.
